Canon mounted atop Fort Barrancas
This cannon atop Fort Barrancas is mounted en barbette, on a carriage that will swivel in order to aim. Canons mounted at this location would have fired on ships in Pensacola Bay, and in 1861 toward the U.S. occupied Fort Pickens. (Photo by William Lees, FPAN, December 2010)
