Live Oak

Temporary Confederate Monument

Intersection of Howard and Ohio streets

In case you have been looking for it, there is no monument in Live Oak.  What you see in these photographs is what appears to be a large permanent monument in the center of Live Oak's main street, but this in fact a temporary monument constructed for the state reunion of the United Confederate Veterans that was held there in 1909.  Although no longer a destination today, this monument was definitely a destination in the past!
