The Museum of Florida History is the State's official history museum and is located down the hill from the capitol on Bronough street.  Its permanent exhibits include an excellent presentation on the Civil War in Florida and the actions of Florida troops beyond the state's borders.  A number of important Civil War artifacts, including flags carried in battle in Florida and beyond, are on display.

Open 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday; 10:00 AM through 4:30 PM Saturday; Noon through 4:30 PM Sunday and holidays.  Admission is free.
