Brevard is located along central Florida’s Atlantic coast and is the host county for the East Central Region of the Florida Public Archaeology Network. This county not only houses NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, the Florida Historical Society, and beautiful beaches but is also the home of the Windover Pond Archaeological Site, a 7,000 year old mortuary pond in Titusville. |

The Florida Public Archaeology Network is dedicated to the protection of cultural resources, both on land and underwater, and to involving the public in the study of their past. Regional centers around Florida serve as clearinghouses for information, institutions for learning and training, and headquarters for public participation in archaeology.
