Digging Deeper in the Dry Tortugas

Time: 8:00 pm til 9:30 pm

Location: Miami Science Museum, 3280 South Miami Avenue

Description: Dry Tortugas National Park is located 70 miles west of Key West, and it is home to Ft. Jefferson which is the largest masonry structure in the western hemisphere. In 2009 and 2010, the National Park Service, Florida Public Archaeology Network, and Florida Anthropological Society cooperated to bring public archaeology to Garden Key. This talk, by Michele Williams, provides a brief history of cultural resource management at Dry Tortugas National Park and discusses the public archaeology events at the Park.
