The West Central Regional Center is hosted by the University of South Florida Department of Anthropology, which has a long history of applied and public archaeology. The Center is housed on USF's Tampa campus in the Continuing Education building (NEC 338) on the corner of East Fletcher Ave and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.

In addition to being accessible to this large interested public, the West Central Regional Center serves nine counties on Florida’s west coast (DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota).
