DeSoto County Historical Society Monthly Mtg Celebrates Arcadia's 1Time: 11:30 am til 1:00 pm Location: Family Service Center Annex corner of N. Orange Avenue and Effie Street, Arcadia Description: Lunch will be a potluck meal, beginning at 11:30 a.m. At noon, President Mitzie McGavic will conduct a short business meeting, and then celebrate Arcadia's 125th Birthday with a special presentation, followed by birthday cake! The Florida Public Archaeology Network is dedicated to the protection of cultural resources, both on land and underwater, and to involving the public in the study of their past. Regional centers around Florida serve as clearinghouses for information, institutions for learning and training, and headquarters for public participation in archaeology.
