Discovering Culture and Nature with your ChildTime: 1:00 pm til 3:00 pm Location: Weedon Island Preserve, 1800 Weedon Drive NE St. Petersburg, Florida 33702 Description: Stop by the Weedon Island open classroom anytime between 1 to 3 p.m. to participate in a variety of self-guided archaeological activities. This week "sifting through the past" teaches how early people made their living from our Bay and waterways. No registration required. Recommended for families with children of all ages. The Florida Public Archaeology Network is dedicated to the protection of cultural resources, both on land and underwater, and to involving the public in the study of their past. Regional centers around Florida serve as clearinghouses for information, institutions for learning and training, and headquarters for public participation in archaeology.
