Civil War Workshop for TeachersTime: 10:00 am til 4:00 pm Location: Manatee Village Historical Park, 1404 Manatee Ave. East, Bradenton Description: Florida Archaeology Month 2012 will be focused on the Civil War in Florida. To highlight our region’s cultural resources from this time period, the West Central Regional Center of the Florida Public Archaeology Network and Manatee Village Historical Park will host a workshop in March for teachers. The Florida Public Archaeology Network is dedicated to the protection of cultural resources, both on land and underwater, and to involving the public in the study of their past. Regional centers around Florida serve as clearinghouses for information, institutions for learning and training, and headquarters for public participation in archaeology.
