Archaeology Classes at MOSI
If you are coming to MOSI for a field trip, we have several interactive science programs to teach you about Florida archaeology. See MOSI’s school program guide for more details.
Boy Scout Archaeology Merit Badge
Attention Boy Scouts! Yes, you can earn your archaeology merit badge. Rae Harper is a Merit Badge Counselor and willing to work with any Boy Scout that has an interest in earning this achievement.
PRESENTATIONS
Need a speaker? FPAN Staff are able to give a variety of presentations to local civic, church, education, or school groups about Florida archaeology. We provide the equipment, you provide a room and people! Please contact us for further information or to schedule a presentation.

Learn about why the Florida Public Archaeology Network was formed, its mission, and how we at the West Central Center are fulfilling that charge. The PowerPoint presentation takes about 30 minutes, and we suggest 15 minutes for a question and answer session.
Florida’s Past
If you are interested in Florida’s pre-contact people, this presentation looks at Florida and its inhabitants from 14,000 B.C to the 1500s. The PowerPoint presentation takes about 45 minutes and we suggest 15 minutes for a question and answer session.
FPAN’s Education Collection
This collection of artifacts demonstrates the range of pottery and lithics from Archaic to Mississippian times for the Tampa Bay region. These artifacts can be viewed in conjunction with the Florida’s Past presentation or as part of another activity. Please allow at least 30 minutes to view the collection.
